I am a total Casualista, if that’s even a word in the fashion industry. If not, well, I just made it up! I grew up in the Dominican Republic, in a city that celebrates being overdressed. No matter what, and no matter how hot it is (and it does get hot) people don’t wear shorts, at least not in the city. After moving to the States, it took me a while to get used to dressing more casual. Many years later, not only have I embraced it, but as a mom its just more practical. Now, that doesn’t mean that I compromise on style. I still make sure I look put together no matter how casual the outfit is. You just never know who you will run into, right?! So here’s an example of the perfect casual Fall outfit.
When I saw this scoop back cropped sweater online, I fell in love with it. But when I actually received it, I was a bit disappointed. The knit is thicker than it looks online, so its not as relaxed as it seems. But I guess, its still a good thing because the thickness does keep me warm which compensates for the low back/one shoulder aspect. What I really love though, is the raw hem.
Since the sweater is cropped I paired it with a mid rise pair of embroidered jeans. I bought these jeans at Zara when we were in Paris a couple of months ago and they have been my favorite since. Unfortunately, it seems that they are sold out but I’ve linked a few that are almost identical on the shopping widget above and at the end of this post.
How funky are these platform oxford shoes? I also got these while in Paris at a French chain store called Pimkie, which is in the likes of Forever 21 or H&M but on a smaller scale. I had been searching for platform oxfords but that weren’t too over the top. I wanted a more subtle platform and I found them when we stumbled upon a shopping mall in the middle of Paris. I was able to link directly to the shoes from Pimkie, but in other colors. I did however linked others that are similar to the pewter color.
To add to the funkiness of the outfit I grabbed my new round cross body bag from Alwaysfits.com. You know, the one my hubby calls my Mickey Mouse bag. I still love it and get compliments on it all the time. And of course, to finish off the outfit I added the pièce de résistance, the Gucci belt. I can’t say this enough, but this is such a great investment piece and goes with just about anything. I’m almost contemplating getting the thinner one. Gotta save up for that.
Thanks for stopping by to read!! If you purchase any of these pieces, be sure to let me know how you like them!!
