Entertaining With Hackamore Energy Drink

photos by: Justin Smith of Justin Smith Studio

Just because the holidays are over, it doesn’t mean the celebrations have to stop. We have the big game coming up, Valentine’s Day, and its always someone’s birthday (ahem, like yours truly coming up next month!). My dear friend, Alyssa Puckett (content creator of A Hint of Hazel), and I partnered with Hackamore Energy Drink to bring you a couple of fun cocktails that will impress your guests and make you the number one entertainer among your friends!

In order to bring you the best recipes, we enlisted the help of Kelly Milton, Beverage Director and master mixer at Soul Gastrolounge here in Charlotte, NC. Alyssa and I had a blast watching him and learning how to create these amazing cocktails using Hackamore Energy Drink!

But first, a little info on Hackamore. Hackamore is a premium luxury non-alcoholic drink that only contains natural caffeine along with amino acids and b-vitamins. The best part, it has zero calories, zero sweeteners or sugars with a refreshing lime flavor, making it a healthier energy booster. You can easily mix it with just soda water, enjoy over ice or make non-alcoholic versions of our drinks below!

So, without further ado, here are two delicious recipes that Kelly made for us, and we happily enjoyed…twice 🙂

Not Your Typical Caipirinha

-2oz Leblon Cachaca

-0.5 oz Hackamore

-muddled whole lime

-0.5 oz house grenadine (1/2:1 parts of pomegranate:sugar, 6 dashes orange blossom water). Can use store-bought grenadine, alternatively.

Mix all ingredients in a shaker. Cover. Shake over crushed ice. Garnish with a mint bouquet and cherry.

Tequila Sunrise to Sunset

-1 oz Casamigos Plata Tequila

-1 oz Sombra mezcal

-0.5 oz Hackamore

-2 oz pineapple juice

-0.5 oz lime juice

-0.5 oz agave nectar

-1 oz Spanish red wine

Mix first 6 ingredients in a shaker. Cover. Shake. Pour into a tall glass and top with red wine. Garnish with lime wheel and pineapple fronds.

How do you like to entertain?

A huge thank you to Kelly Milton, Soul Gastrolounge and Justin Smith for helping us create this post!!

Happy early Birthday! I love a good tequila sunrise, so that one sounds perfect for me. Not to mention it looks purty too!
