Fat-Burning Power Smoothie

Fat-Burning Power Smoothie

It is mid-February and usually, by this point, most of the New Year’s resolutions have gone out the window or just about to go out the window. If you feel like you’re on the verge of giving up your health and fitness goals, please hang in there. Tell yourself that you started for a reason and if you stop now, you might regret it a few weeks from now when you could have already reached that goal. Trust me, I’ve been there.

To give you a little motivation boost, I created this recipe, which has rebooted the motivation to keep going on my own goals and get out of my diet rut. It’s funny how one little thing can create such a shift.

This fat-burning power smoothie does not only give you tons of health benefits but let me tell ya, it is so delicious!!! I was actually surprised at how good it turned out, even my 12-year-old loves it and has been asking me to make it almost daily.

This is great for pre-workout but also amazing for post-workout muscle recovery. Spinach is one of the most vitamin and mineral jammed-packed natural ingredients there are, containing vitamins A, C, E, K and B6, folate, calcium, zinc and even has protein. Ginger is a natural diuretic and helps to fill you up. Make sure you use fresh ginger and grate it yourself, none of that prepackaged stuff. For added protein and also for skin benefits, I added collagen powder, which can also be added to almost anything. Chlorophyll is super high in antioxidants, helps liver detoxification, improves digestion and weight control, but also helps fight cancer!!

You can make this using either canned light coconut milk or plain Greek yogurt. I’ve tried it both ways (depending on what I have on hand) and both are just as good. The almond mil is to help thin it out if its too thick, but you can use any other kind of nut milk.

I’ve been wanting to try out a delicious green juice/smoothie and this fills the bill! I usually add collagen powder to my tea but this is a great idea as well.
