I write this post as we fly back from Paris. Our second time there was just as magical and romantic as the first (even with kids). You just can never get enough of this city, and there’s still so much we have yet to explore. The kids both said they would love to live there and learn French. My husband and I have talked about spending our Summers in Paris and drive all around France as well as visit other parts of Europe. I know, its wishful thinking, but one can dream.
I’d like to tell you all about our trip but I’ll save that for another post. I got this gingham dress because I thought is was the perfect Summer dress to wear in Paris in August, when the weather was supposed to be hot, or at least so I thought. It wasn’t too cold either but definitely chillier than I anticipated, although I was still able to wear this dress and be comfortable. It comes with a belt made of the same fabric but I decided to chic it up a bit with my Gucci belt that I can’t stop wearing. This belt literally goes with just about everything, so I think its a great investment. You all know I’m all about affordable pieces, but there are certain things you just have to invest in, just think of cost per wear. And yes, sneakers are more than ok to wear in Paris, in fact everyone wears sneakers there and they wear them with anything even skirts and dresses, which I’m already a huge fan of. But be sure they are stylish sneakers.
Everywhere we went I made sure to observe what the local Parisian woman was wearing. I was very inspired by the way they effortlessly put their outfits together but also a bit confused, only because some were wearing very summery light clothing and others were on full Fall mode; I’m talking about jeans, knee high boots and leather jackets. So if you ever consider visiting Paris in August and wondered what the appropriate attire is, I’d say wear whatever you want and just keep an eye on the temperature and what you think you’ll be comfortable style-wise.
At the bottom of the post I’ve rounded up some other Summer dresses you can still wear during the remainder of the Summer, for example Labor Day. And they are all very affordable and most can easily transition into the Fall. Just add a sweater or jacket and change the shoes and accessories to fit the season.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
