I have very fond memories of eating at Cheesecake Factory as a little girl, whenever my family and I would travel to the US. It was a must for us on every trip. We knew it as having delicious food and a huge selection to please each one of our palates. To this day, it still holds up to those memories and expectations.
Last week I was invited to try Cheesecake Factory’s Bar Menu, which is available from 4-6pm, Mon-Fri. This makes for a perfect post work/happy hour treat. I took one of my best friends, Becky, with me so that we could catch up and have some girl time.
We started with some cocktails, I got the prosecco and she had a cosmo. Becky lives right across the street from me and we see each other practically every day. Ok maybe not every day but quite a bit. Our families hang out every single weekend, Saturdays and Sundays, and her and I will see each other a couple of times during the week. You would think we would run out of things to talk about, but no. We are like two little hens, just chat chat chat. So because we hadn’t seen each other for like 3 days, for us, this was our ‘catching up’. We talked about anything and everything over a great meal and cocktails.
I have to say that we both were very surprised at how big the selection was on the Bar Menu. It made it really hard to decide because everything sounded so good! I kept looking at other tables around us to see what people were ordering and what the dishes looked like. The Bar Menu makes for a great affordable meal and you get just the right amount. We all know that Cheesecake Factory is notorious for having extremely large portions, which isn’t a bad thing. But having the Bar Menu that offers a variety of items for just $5.95, normally priced at $12, makes for a great value and you still get a decent size portion, I mean look at my burger below, that’s a full size burger!
Some of my favorite dishes on their main menu are the grilled salmon (always cooked to perfection) and the Cuban sandwich, gets me every time! It’s so delicious y’all! But I was here to try the Bar Menu. Becky and I both got the Ahi Tare Tare, from the Small Plates Menu to start with and it was heavenly. The tuna was very fresh and I really loved how well it paired with the avocado and soy-ginger sauce. My next dish was the Happy Hour Burger from the Bar Menu, one of their most popular dishes on this menu. The meat was a bit more done than I had asked for but I actually didn’t mind it too much because the taste of the sweet caramelized onions made it so delicious. Becky got the Sausage and Ricotta Flatbread and said it was amazing. She really loved the combination of the different cheeses and sausage. She also said the kale added and nice little touch too.
We couldn’t leave without having a cheesecake. After all, it is called the Cheesecake Factory. My absolute favorite cheesecake of theirs is the Tiramisu Cheesecake. In my opinion, it is way better than any regular tiramisu cake I’ve ever had. But for this visit, because I’m trying to get in shape for a couple of trips coming up and Cheesecake Factory does a swell job at letting you know how many calories you’ll be consuming, I decided to go with the Low Carb Cheesecake, sweetened with Splenda. I wasn’t sure what to expect given that is was ‘low carb’, but I was pleasantly surprised and how it tasted no different than a regular cheesecake! It was creamy and addictive. I tried not to eat the whole thing. TRIED. #fail
Becky and I both left there pretty full, but happy and satisfied. And I think we might make this Happy Hour thing at Cheesecake Factory a recurring occasion, mostly because we want to try so many other dishes. Next time I am definitely trying their Vietnamese Shrimp Summer Roll and they Crispy Crab Wontons from the Bar Menu section that you can’t beat for just $5.95 each. I can’t wait!
What do you think of Cheesecake Factory? Have you tried their Happy Hour Bar Menu?
