Happy Friday!!!! First, I want to start off by saying that it was brought to my attention that my posts had not been going out to my beautiful subscribers for about a month. I sincerely apologize you missed these posts, there was a technical issue with my account on MailChimp, but the issue has been resolved! UPDATE: Issue not resolved. But I’m working really hard to fix it.
Now, let me tell you a little story about my hair tools. I’ve had my trusty hair dryer (not pictured) for 20 years!!! Yes, you read that right, 20. My mom and I bought it when we lived in Quito, Ecuador and it has worked flawlessly ever since. Now that’s a good hair dryer, right? Yes it is, and it has been the best investment. I wish I could tell you the brand, but I don’t even know. Its not on the dryer itself, just some random number.
Lately, I’ve noticed that this said dryer has been slowing down and occasionally the power would subside therefore extending my drying time. It just felt like it took forever to dry my hair. As much as I hated to part with it, I started doing some research on new dryers and the T3 Micro Featherweight Luxe 2i sounded like the best out of a few that I searched. It has T3 Tourmaline® SoftAire® + T3 Ion Generator. They claim that the integrated Ion generator enhances the drying power, enriching the airflow with negative ions to help neutralize static, retain moisture, diffuse frizz, and boost shine. It also comes in pink and blue and in compact size for traveling. Also, I just noticed on their site that this dryer is on sale from $250 to $199!
But before you buy, I’m going to give you my honest opinion and review. Obviously, these tools are gorgeous on the outside with the white and rose gold accents. But the inside its what matters. It definitely is lightweight which helps with the wrists. When it comes to the type of hair I have, which is thin and frizzy, it needs a lot of heat in order to dry it completely. This is important to prevent frizz, if you have frizzy hair, you don’t want the least bit of moisture or dampness left in your hair. If you’ve ever heard of the Dominican Blowout, you know what I mean. So, I was a bit skeptical about the drying concentrator (nozzle tip) being double the width of my old dryer. I thought that having a narrower tip would make the flow more concentrated. But because of the far-infrared heat, I was pleasantly surprised at the power it has and how quickly it dried my hair because it can target a larger area at a time.
My hair feels softer and seems shinier after using the T3 Micro Dryer. My only two complaints I have is the position of the buttons. My old dryer had them on the side and I was used to that. So by having these on the inside of the handle, I easily click them, as well as the cool blast button. But this is just a matter of getting used to this dryer, I’m sure eventually I will and I’ll stop accidentally clicking them. The other negative thing is the nozzle tip and the way its set onto the dryer itself. When I am drying the crown and top of the head I like to use the nozzle to lay the hair as I move the hair brush back to the roots to pass the dryer through the hair again. Not sure if that makes sense. But basically when I do this, some hair strands get caught on the gap of the nozzle tip and the main nozzle, so it pulls it. But again, this is also a matter of me getting used to either drying it differently or adjusting my grip.
Overall, I really love this dryer, and as a busy mom my main concern is reducing drying time, which it absolutely does.
The dryer also came with a 2.5″ round brush which allows air to flow through, and that helps with drying the hair faster too.
I was also sent the 1″ SinglePass® Luxe flat iron. I.LOVE.THIS!!! When they say SinglePass, they mean it. Now, even though its probably not recommended for my thin hair, I use it on the highest setting (which I always do with any flat iron) and all I have to do is go a little slower than usual. With just one pass, I can move on to the next section instead of spending more time going through several times, even at a faster pace. It has T3 Tourmaline ceramic plates, 5 heat settings and 1 hour auto shut off, which is huge for me because I couldn’t tell you how many times I forget to turn my tools off. The box also came with two styling clips that don’t leave any marks on the hair. Score!
I truly highly recommend this brand if you’re on the market for new hair tools. Its no surprise they were voted Best of Beauty Award and Breakthrough Award by Allure.
Have you tried this brand? Do you have any hair tool stories you want to share?
