Ok, I know I’m a little late on this post. Ideally, I should have posted before Thanksgiving, but with all the craziness that the holiday preparations bring, I didn’t get a chance. As it turns out, this post best fits how I feel this morning, rather than the stressed out me last week. So it’ll (hopefully) be a better read.
Our Thanksgiving weekend couldn’t have been any better. For the past few years we have been celebrating it with our best friends (and neighbors). My husband deep fries two turkeys and Becky roasts one and some ham. The prep work gets a little crazy in each of our kitchens but once we gather at the table, we are all happy as clams.
This year we are both hosting foreign exchange students, both from Spain, and for us Thanksgiving felt extra special because we are able to share our traditions with them. They were both so looking forward to their very first Thanksgiving and thankfully we didn’t disappoint. My heart filled with joy seeing them relish in all the yummy food.
As for the rest of the weekend, we all went to a hockey game. Our team won 8-2! We had such a blast cheering on and sharing laughs. We also put up our Christmas tree this weekend and our elf came to visit for the first time this year.
Even after a sleepless night last night (I’m a terrible sleeper), I woke up this morning reflecting on our holiday weekend and literally felt energized by all the love and joy we were able to share. I haven’t stopped smiling. I am so thankful for my amazing husband, my kids, our friends, our health and all of the opportunities and blessings that God has bestowed upon us, including Javier’s parents for sending him to the U.S. and trusting us with their son.
I’m also so incredibly thankful for all of you. For coming into my little corner of the web and following along my journey as a blogger. Without you I wouldn’t love doing what I do so much! So thank you, thank you, thank you!
Ok, let’s get on with this outfit, since some of you are probably wanting to know the deets.
I love this outfit so much, I’ve worn it twice in the past two weeks! The first was for dinner with some Charlotte blogger babes, and then again for Thanksgiving. I’ve gotten so many compliments on this puff sleeve sweater. Its so soft, stylish and just under $20! Can you believe that?! I paired it with black skinny jeans and the most fabulous over-the-knee boots, I seriously can’t tell you enough how awesome these boots are. They fit snug even on my skinny legs and they don’t slide down easily. They come in black and brown as well, and I want them all! Right now, you can get 30% off these boots and everything on their site for their Black Friday deal that ends tonight, so hurry up and get them! And of course, as I’ve mentioned before, the best investment piece that adds the finishing touch to any outfit is this Gucci belt. You can’t go wrong with it!
Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
